The Germany company J.F. Schwarzlose & Sohne was founded in 1856 by a piano maker Joachim Friedrich Schwarzlose, as a pharmacy for his sons. Quickly after the pharmacy launched, his sons started with the production of perfumes.
The popularity of the family owned company grew quickly and even emperors and kings were amongst their customers. Their fame continued to grow and the company survived the big depression and two world wars. In 1976 the company wasn’t doing to well and they stopped their activities, luckily they kept a large archive of everything they did.
In November 2012 the brand was rebuild! They returned to the market with the launch of four fragrances inspired by classical home fragrance but designed in collaboration with the perfumer Veronique Nyberg to have their products speak to modern customers.

The atmosphere of Berlin in a bottle, the first new interpretation of the fifties best-seller. Aside from perfumes, J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin also sold soaps and fragranced powders. Even in current day society the exceptional fragrance manages to convince many. In this noble perfume you will find notes of linden blossom, magnolia and jasmine, mandarin and pink pepper. The linden blossom extract in this fragrance symbolises the well-known “Berliner Luft”, the air of Berlin which you can take in around the beautiful boulevard of the Unter den Linden in the centre of the city.
Not only the scent resembles Berlin but the name is also inspired by old license plates of Berlin cars. 1A resembles Berlin and the number 33 the location of the company in the neighbourhood Moabit.
