What is MVE-technology?
Scientists who research the atopic, dry and vulnerable skin agree: the barrier function of the skin plays a crucial part in skin diseases. If the skin barrier weakens, it could lead to different skin diseases, such as acne and eczema. The hydrolipid film which protects the epidermis against external aggressions should be protected permanently to prevent that diseases arise and become chronical. However, a lot of consumers and patients seem a bit lax with their skin care and often apply it more than once per day. However, even the most innovative ingredients in large amounts have little effect if you cannot control the dose.
To try to solve this, a group of dermatologists developed CeraVe in 2005. They were convinced that the next derma-cosmetic revolution was not in the discovery of new active ingredients, but in the way in which they are applied to the skin. In their search to a way to transport active ingredients for hours and distributed in the skin continuously and equally. They were inspired by medicines.
Because of this the patented MVE-technology (Multi-Vesicular-Emulsion) was developed. This technology makes it possible to give active ingredients to the skin continuously thanks to an extraordinary structure. The MVE-technology consists of micro atmospheres which are built up from multiple layers in which the active ingredients are stored: every layer contains the 3 essential ceramides for the skin and also hyaluronan acid for an optimal hydration. When the product is applied, the layers dissolve and release active ingredients. An equal and controlled diffusion of active ingredients is received in the skin.
