Facial Cleansing

When building a house, the foundation is the first thing you focus on, and the same goes for facial cleansing in men. This forms a good basis for daily skincare. When you cleanse your skin, you prepare it for the rest of your routine and the next day. The three key elements are:

- Cleansing
- Exfoliating
- Hydrating

There are different cleansers, scrubs, and creams for men depending on their skin type. Take a close look at what your skin type is and what it specifically needs.

Cleansing the Face

You 'activate' a facial cleanser with a bit of water so that it foams or becomes a milky substance. Always wash your face with lukewarm, warm water so that the pores open up. Then, take the facial cleanser in your palms and massage it onto your face in circular motions. Always do this gently because the skin on the face is always sensitive. Rinse your face with cool water to close the pores.

Exfoliating the Face

Exfoliating is something that few men do, but it's oh so important! Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, allowing your skin to better absorb healthy fats and oils. Exfoliating removes deeper dirt, reducing the likelihood of inflammation and minimizing the chances of acne. Exfoliating is done less frequently than cleansing and hydrating. Wet your face with warm water and take the scrub on your fingers. Massage the scrub into your face in circular motions. You can scrub a little harder on your nose, chin, and forehead, but be careful. Then, rinse with cool water and pat your face dry. Our recommendation is to exfoliate once a week.

Hydrating the Face

The skin always needs hydration, especially a little extra in the winter. Especially when you cleanse your skin and occasionally exfoliate, it needs hydration because if you don't hydrate your skin, sebum production can go haywire, and we don't want that. Hydrate your skin with a facial cream for men. A facial cream keeps your skin supple, elastic, provides enough moisture, and helps delay skin aging. Your face will feel much more comfortable. Apply the facial cream to dry skin after cleansing or exfoliating. Massage it in with your fingers all over your face and don't forget to include your neck.
