The seventies were a time of experimenting. Skirts became shorter, people dressed in colorful prints, hippies and mods went on the streets and next to the very short or very long hair cuts was the eyeliner also very popular. It was a time full of extreme fashion choices. Inspired by this extraordinary time, stylist Geri Cusenza decided in the 70s to give this new flower power generation exciting new hair products. Cusenza kept his word and developed a leading brand: Sebastian. Sebastian stood at the start of the crimping iron; a hair straightener which makes waffles in the hair. A big success in the eighties. The brand also developed the first wet gel, the first easy to use hairspray (the Sebastian Shaper) and the first semi-permanent hair colour without ammonia, the Laminates series.
