Causes of Frizzy hair
The hair scales of dry and damaged hair will get open, because they try t take moist from the surrounding. In this way, the hair becomes Frizzy and untreatable.
You have got curly or thin hair.
Frizzy hair occurs more often with people with curls or a blow in the hair. The cause of Frizzy hair with curls is that curly hair is often dryer than straight hair, with which the hair fluffs quicker. Next to curly hair, people with thin hair suffer quicker form fluff because these hair types are often less heavy.
Showering too warm
We understand that you get happy from a warm shower, but your hair is a bit less happy with this. Warmth causes the hair scales to get open, with which the hair dehydrates and tries to take moist from outside. Rinsing off cold ensures that the hair scales close.
You use the wrong shampoo
Next to the temperature, the use of the right shampoo is important to prevent Frizzy hair. You could choose a special shampoo for Frizzy hair with hydrating glycerine. Next to a good shampoo, a good conditioner, hair mask and a hair oil or serum is unmissable in your hair care routine against fluff.
Too much heat
Above we already wrote about showering too hot. Too much heat should be avoided when you have Frizzy hair. Therefore we advise to use a heat protecting spray when you are going to use heat tools such as a hair dryer or hair straightener.
Washing too often
You could also wash your hair too often. Even if you use the best shampoo for Frizzy hair, your hair will dehydrate as well if you use it too much. The advice is to wash your hair for a maximum of 3 to 4 times per week if your suffer from Frizzy hair.
Brushing too often
It is of course important to brush your hair to detangle it. But when you brush your hair too often, you could damage it. We recommend to brush your hair not more than twice per day.
Damage by towel and pillowcase
You could damage your hair in many different ways, even subconscious by drying your hair wrong with a terry cloth towel or sleeping on a cotton pillow. These have a rough fibre structure, which could damage your hair. You could best dry your hair with a towel made of micro fibre or bamboo. Your pillowcase could best be replaced with a satin pillowcase of for example Beautypillow.
